Socializing Activities Which Don't Involve Alcohol
Does Socializing in the West always require alcohol?
This can be a difficult topic. Drinking and socializing are an ingrained part of Western culture. Many of us have probably seen the effects of heavy drinking firsthand. However, I believe it's possible to go out with friends and clients without the use of alcohol. To those who may think this is "weird" or too limiting, I would ask you to think about your own thoughts around alcohol. Are you limited in any way, or does it not hurt anyone? These are things we should ask ourselves when determining what types of activities we participate in.
You're young, and you want to socialize, but you don't drink. You're not alone. In fact, there are many people who want to go out and do things without alcohol. Whether it's because they have a medical condition that makes it difficult for them to metabolize alcohol, goes against their religion or because they just don't like the taste of it, there is a whole world of fun waiting for you! And you don't have to spend your time just sitting at home. Here are some ideas for socializing activities that don't involve alcohol:
Hiking in the mountains is a great way to socialize without alcohol. You can go on a hike with your friends, and there’s no alcohol in sight! You’ll be surrounded by nature, you’ll get some fresh air, and you can even do some damage control on that skin of yours. Go on a hike at a local mountain, or venture a little further out if you’re feeling adventurous.
Coffee meetups are some of the best activities for non-drinkers. It puts you in an environment where you’re surrounded by people that don’t drink, and you can chat about anything and everything. They’re great for meeting new people, and they’re a low-key way to have a really good time. While you’re at it, you can also try some new coffee shop drinks, like iced coffee or espresso.
